What to Expect

Here at PetWell we strive to foster a warm and inviting environment for you and your pets.

When You Arrive:
Here at PetWell, we strive to foster a warm and inviting environment for you and your pets. You’ll be greeted by one of our knowledgeable staff members who will be sure that we have all the necessary paperwork settled and be directed to one of our three comfortable exam rooms. You’ll notice something about the rooms right away; no exam tables to be seen! Most pets feel most confident and calm when allowed to stand at ground level. This is just one of the ways we’ve adjusted to a fear-free handling approach in order to keep pets as comfortable as possible during their time here with us. Creating Individualized Care Plans.

As an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited practice, PetWell tailors every visit to the individual patient. A trained staff member will talk to you to get an idea of your pet’s general medical history and lifestyle. They will go over any concerns that you’re bringing with you regarding your pet’s physical and mental health, as well as any behavioral concerns you have. This team member will guide you through deciding what preventative care is appropriate for your pet’s unique lifestyle based on AAHA guidelines and will work with the doctor on staff to create a care plan that is just right for your pet. We’ll provide you with a verbal overview as well as a preliminary financial estimate for this plan to make sure that you’re fully informed and comfortable before any treatments or procedures are carried out. If it’s necessary to collect any samples for testing, we may collect those at this time.

Your Pet’s Exam:
One of our talented doctors will examine your pet from nose to tail; our doctors and staff are trained to do exams and procedures both in the exam room with you or in a separate treatment area, depending on what makes you and your pet the most comfortable. We always take a fear-free approach to these exams and to handling your pet, meaning that our staff will take the least stressful approach possible with your pets. If they have any history of fear or anxiety during vet visits, it’s helpful for you to let our staff know ahead of time so we can tailor our approach to your individual dog or cat. During this exam, the doctor will thoroughly evaluate each of your pet’s body systems and address any health concerns that you have, as well as any concerning things that come up during the appointment, if any.

Vaccines and Annual Diagnostics:
If your pet is having vaccines administered, we will perform these once your pet receives a clean bill of health. Here at PetWell, we require that every pet be examined by a doctor prior to the administration of vaccines to ensure that there are no underlying health issues that could interfere with the effectiveness of their vaccinations. This policy is in place to make sure that no pet is ever given a vaccine while their immune system is compromised or when their health is otherwise at risk. Every pet has different vaccines that they require based on age and lifestyle; we will choose a vaccine protocol appropriate for your pet using the care plan we develop at your first visit. We believe that monthly heartworm prevention and annual heartworm testing are of crucial importance, so we’ll also address your pet’s heartworm protection status as well as recommend flea and tick control based on your pet’s needs.

Payment Options:
Payments for services will be due at the time they are rendered. We accept all major credit cards, cash, and CareCredit. Feel free to let one of our customer service team members know if you’re interested in signing up for CareCredit.

All of us here at PetWell just want to wish you a warm welcome, and we hope to be seeing you and your pets for years to come!

Some issues cannot be prevented! In this situation, please call/make an appointment and we'll do our best to help.
